Mount Lahilahi is in peril and will be sold off to the highest bidder. Unless we see more participation from the Hawaiian community, but outside of OHA and Makaha Hawaiian Civic club members we should see this piece of History gone from our memories.
The general public that had opposed the formation of PLDC on last Thursday's meeting, one can only see that this will not happen. And what will happen that they exist, no different than what happened in 1974. For four years Native Hawaiian women living on Hawaiian Homestead Land opposed the formation of OHA and their intent of privatizing ceded lands and stealing monies that belonged to those that were defined as native Hawaiian for five purposes one being education.
