April 1919: Meeting at Phoenix Hall, Iku Hai, Kekapuwohi Makakuikalani, resigned after being re-elected for a second term because she had to go to Hilo to live.

 

May 1919:  William A. Hall, elected Iku Hai, Mrs. Makakuikalani elevated to Iku Naha.

 

April 1920:  Committee on revision of Constitution and By-Laws appointed.

 

June 1920:  Death benefits increased from $50.00 to $100.00.

 

October 1920: Hale O Na Alii Store opened in Young Hotel Building, with a parade and Hookupu.  Friends of Princess Kawananako donated cash in amounts ranging from $18.75 to $500.00, a total gift of $3,388.75.  With working capital assured, store operated for several years; project given up when unable to secure a favorable lease.  Profits turned into the Hale O Na Alii treasury.

 

December 1920:  Princess Kawananakoa appoints committee to consider formation of Chapters on other islands.

     Report of funeral Committee on death of Kamoni Kainoa, a loyal and devoted officer.  Honored by 200 members turning out for the services and funeral; members congratulated by Iku Lani Hoano for "upholding the finest traditions of the Hale O Na Alii, that of being with our own to the very last."

 

January 21, 1921: Halau O Kapiolani, Kauai, organized; 129 members initiated.

 

May 1921: Iku Hai, Hattie N. Peck resigned and succeeded by Mary Ann Kaleikau; Ellen K. Cathcart became Iku Nuu, later became Iku Hai.  Iku Kau was William J. Coelho and Iku Wai, Lillie Mitchell.

 

     Portion of Installation Ceremonies:  "Our recently elected officers are about to be stalled.  I want  to impress upon them that this ceremony is althogether a solemn one, as they must swear upon the Bible and in the presence of the Ahahui, to perform their duties efficiently, honestly and to the best of their ability."

 

October 1921: Committee appointed to design a distinctive pin for the Society.

 

January 1922: Resolution of condolence prepared upon the death of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole.  Oahu delegation joined by delegations from Hawaii and Kauai in funeral procession.

 

April 1922: Nominations for Officers: for Iku Hai, 4; for Iku Lani, 3; for Iku Nuu 2; for Iku Kau, 3; for Iku Poni, 4;  for Iku Laau, 6

Minutes of Halau prepared in both English and Hawaiian.

 

May 1922: Halau invited to participate in Kamehameha Day exercises and donate sum of money for expenses.

     Resolution of Condolence upon the death of Mrs. Makakuikalani in 1922.

     WHEREAS, the Guiding Angel of Souls has led away the life  supporting spirit of our beloved and first Iku Naha ....left a vacant place in its Councils, to mourn for one of  its staunchest  standard bearers,

     RESOLVED,  That the Ahahui Poo does hereby mourn and grieve for our beloved Iku Naha,

     who has gone on to the sacred realm of the Heavenly Father, in everlasting Peace. 

 

December 1922: Complaint of a Member that she was kept outside while the minutes were being read:  "Iku Lani Hoano explained that members are urged to get to meeting on time, that when important documents (minutes) are being read, the attention of all members must be centered upon the report of the business transacted by the Ahahui, and no disturbance will be allowed."
