I say no too. No to cable and wind mills on Lani and Molokai.  And yes, thanks for the Kipuka!

Today, I told some nice people no!  They packed up and left.

We left with a gentlemen's agreement that they should not put our little park on Google Earth.

I explained Kawiwi Hill and how people died living up there while Kamehameha was training below in the valley.  They were preparing for the war a battle that never happened.  I pointed to the top of the mountain and explained that is where the windmills are projected to go on image picture planning.  I also showed these co workers Mount Kaala and explained that they can search for Pukui's poem on Ka'ala.  I demonstrated Hiaka and her two shark uncles formation and how the water tank rips at one of the sharks face.  I pointed out the recent built telephone pole and wire that sits on the hill if one is facing Makai.  I explained that beside the park was a place where our people made adz.  I also faced the makai and told them that there is a Heiau that they could go to and pay their respects.  We talked about Ka'ala Farms and it's ancient taro patches.  I pointed out the Wastewater Plant, that is soon to receive Honolulu's waste, if we don't speak up on Aug 1, 2011.

I shared the newly paved road, and explained in details how our Na Kupuna was threaten, if they didn't sign a $3,000 tab for sewer hook ups and now pay $200.00 more for their water bill.

After my long 'talk' they were nice enough to pack up and leave.  I gave them my phone number to call if their boss (google) needed more information as to why we should not be on google. I explained that if I would type in my address on google earth one can see my mailbox and the front of my drive way.

I told them that more information about our Hawaiian Homestead would be detriment to our children.  The safety of our old people will be in jepody.  Outsiders, will intrude upon our elders, the children and while we are at work --caregivers that take care of disabled people.

They kindly packed up and close up--apologized and left!

  • My father's land taxes went from $600.00 to $6,000.00 with in 20 years.  It's all because of exploitation, development, and just plain greed!
