Hope to see you all, but don't forget so is LA HO'IHO'EA on the same day and too that is important!

I stopped at my Master carver's workshop Sione Tuione Pulotu yesterday and picked up an 'umeke' I learned a lot more about 'awa' as to the different practices, implements, and actual drinking styles.  As I wrote before, I was so surprise that my brother and my grandson also too knew how to prepare awa.  I'm amazed as to how it is being widely used among the new generation.  Thanks to Beatrice Krauss we still have this practice, it was always an experince t to be in her presence and have a talk story on awa.

And because of the constant demonstration with  pa 'i ai, I picked up taro from Ka'ala, Butch was generous to share some.   The ten year olds and below are all into pounding poi.

It's amazing what one can learn from children and how they intend to preserve their Hawaiian culture practices that was so widely practice  during my dad's time.
