Waianae is dripping with totalitarian regime at every level of social problems, in my opinion. People who left the comfort of their homes to protest, attend APEC 2011, and participate in some form in a confrontation with security were brave souls. Had there been true 'aloha' I promise you Kollin Elderts would be still alive, but because he fit the profile of sneakers wearing youth from middle class homes--he was murdered! One should get to know who David Kennedy is and how he fits in theory work on gangs and riots. We need Tom Berg!
I recently lost my cell phone, not only was it costly to replace--I lost my dad's voicemail too. His last voicemail to me before he died was on that phone. I sought comfort in hearing his voice.
As a councilman, Tom lost his network contacts that kept him and his family safe. Why didn't the security say, wait we need to clear this up with security 'risk' measures. It was clear from listening to the tape none was in place.

As one of the persons that lead the Asian Development Bank protest to safety from Ala Moana Park to Kapiolani Park, I understand the tremendous burden. Then-- national disappointment was multifaceted because locals were in control. We had no incident, no one was murdered, traffic tie up was minimum and everyone that needed to speak up got to the podium and said their piece. Oceania stayed intact and I saw no nuclear war on the horizon.

The high probability of facing a nuclear war seems far more real than the waves washing up on our beaches. Is any main media paying attention? Hardly, they are too busy creating mayhem among the locals.
The social media is looking for the rational of violent sources for irrational reasons. We are skating the real issues for a possible riot in Hawaii. Lee Cataluna and other sources of main media are small time reporters without the sense to do research on the real violence in Hawaii. Instead, it almost seems they are creating the setting for a riot to happen in Hawaii with stupid reporting.
The night that Tom Bergs video was to be shownon the 6 o'clock news was the night that Nestor Garcia--Tom's political opponent was at the helm to criminalize native Hawaiian women and their children-- that was in the morning. By mid afternoon it was about GMO. A while back, I watched Big Island's council meeting for five hours on GMO and I was aghast at what was transpiring for seven hours--- Oahu sold out!
Tom Berg was not asking for special treatment--he just wanted his phone back..think Cataluna..local security mindset in need here. HPD should have accommodated Councilman Berg. Previously, Nestor Garcia and his Neighborhood Board had a problem and that problem continued at the city council meeting to whereas the people's voices was muted. It's pure totalitarian!
Nestor Garcia is not the good, the bad, the ughly--he is evil! Nestor Garcia from my personal dealings with him in Waianae, have put people in dangerous situations. The homeless dies during sweeps, on duty police officers too, and sociopaths walk away from their crimes. The real volatile problems we are all trying to solve and can't because we simply don't have the politicians like Tom out there. He gives a dam! Our voices are heard and everybody goes home feeling that we are worthy of attention.
Lee Cataluna lives in a tightly safe cocoon community, and she obviously don't really get what Christopher Deedy did that night when he gunned down a Hawaii youth. Hawaii is not Los Angeles, or a British middle class neighborhood. Kollin Elderts family should receive justice when Christopher Deedy goes to trial.
The way things are going with the social main media, I doubt if that is possible. Mark Duggan plight should not be repeated, Hawaii should not have to experience riots where innocent people are gunned down and killed. The fear factor should not enter a single moment, day, months during the trial processes of Christopher Deedy in cold blood secret services action which happened during the start of APEC 2011. McDonalds should be a place for children to purchase their 'Happy Meal' not secret service profiling cold blood murder action.
