I am sorry , but you are misinformed. at no time did the Cheroke nation, nor the United keetoowah band of Cherokee ever "make" everyone a fullblood. We have kept BQ for over 200yrs. At teh time of the Dawes Rolls in 1906 there were already citizens with 1/256ths BQ.
You are also wrong again because our population of Fullbloods is GROWING. In 1976 there were approximately 10,000 Cherokee with 1/4 BQ, today there are approximately 30,000.

Unintended, and no planning ..it just happened!
We just had a discussion during lunch about the bloodquantum with people that have been in the movement for decades! Like myself we are old and tired, but still hanging in there to service our people living on DHHL.
We still holding our position as such: To leave the bloodquantum as is which is 50% plus bloodquantum and the successorship as 25%.
This guy that made the argument in 2009 spoke for the present 'us guys' and the future generation. May our children see the light of day on their ancestors lands. The squinty eyes should find their own way home to their ancestors lands by lineal descendents for they choose to do so! For those that are on land, we just need to maintain our occupation on Hawaiian land the best way we know how for the future generations.
