i witnessed a kanaka maoli set up a small fishing alter in the morning off the shoreline in La haina,

and with the same breath, that evening i noticed a american christian hawaiian,

kicking the fishing alter down, as i am watching this happen before my eyes!!!

i wonder and now understand, that we are all not EQUAL.....even as  Hawaiians~~~

and to think how this happened to our Ancestors....this is still happening to us today......hewa!

  • Aloha Princess,

I am a keeper of two  Na Ku'ula a fisherman knew his time was near and he asked me to come to his house.  He asked if I would be a care giver to his two fishing pohaku.

I am also born into the Auld family which are one of the first Missionaries in Hawaii.  Alexander Auld was also well respected by Liliu.

I have to balance both at all times.  Fortunately, both my parents gave me the freedom to understand both or more than.  Daddy Bray was my grandmother's sparing partners (more like) on Christian vs Hawaiian.  My grandmother lived in Waianae , married to Naeole.  She lost her first five children my mother would have been the sixth child in an early grave too.

Christianity was far much better in the swirl of monarchy and governing because people were dying.  I am very comfortable with Hawaiian religion than I am with Christian in my old age.  However, given the years of death and dying among Native Hawaiian communities, I tend to lean towards the Christian community for charity (quick fix).  Like fixing a flat tire, I often need a quick and steady fix!   So the Christian community comes in handy.  As for the Hawaiian sovereignty and all that stuff--one get to use that too, but in a different way.  In no way Hawaiian activism is compassionate towards native need.

But, if one take a look at the native Hawaiian Ahupuaa system we can feed the world 365 days a year and that is the situation we are facing today.

It takes full focus on the shoreline at this time, Christians don't have that eye!  The native Hawaiians do and they are gifted with so much ancestral talents that the scientific and academic community that are getting paid by our tax revenues know that to be true.  My concern is the Christian community is giving all those true and natural elements of ancestral knowledge to the science community that created the bombs.

The science community will always create bombs for the military and these are the two entities that will kill all of humanity on earth.  That is the real problem at hand.

Uncle Sam Lono blessed or kahea the two pohaku's so that I could be a keeper.  It has a negative as well as positive, so therefore--it's mana is real.  Our people were so smart to have both energies at their finger tips and they meditated on these energies daily.  I was lucky to have known or been with Uncle during his time on earth.  He is always with me when I go out.

I think my mother sat and listened to her mother and Daddy Bray discuss Hawaiian religion vs Christianity and took in both which is why it's easier for me to balance the two.  My purpose is to serve our people and these are the energies that I draw on to steady the course in stormy weather.

  • this is a big concern on our maui nui.....for this is the way americans.....will divide our native people....watch,

for we need to address this issue of the past (of missionary) affecting our Native Hawaiian Traditional Cultual Protocals~

    • We will be having a meeting soon on these concerns, and again we need to keep an eye on the purpose and that is to serve our people so that we can have a future  as long as earth exist!
