Spent last night with the fishermens, praying, singing, and being comforted by our ancestors. For they had revealed over a five year period iwi set in concret boxes in caves below their tents, little children buried on the surface, like Naue with their moms. That's what my night was about as I sat their listening to the singing and playing with pig that grew up at the point. She was such a tiny thing, I was told when she came to live at the point. She's about 250 pounds and about to be houseless too. Everybody worried about her more than themselves.
As David Ma and I sat with heaviness in our hearts listening to the brothers cry to IZ for guidence, we watched the sun set. If one looks up Mauka one can see IZ on the mountain side, kinda neat.
This place should be kept natural and undeveloped. No parking lot, no bathrooms should be made. It should be respected--it's a lele. Lots of petroglyps in caves and concrete coffins. You have to dive underwater and swim towards mauka in the caves and according to the fishermen one will see many concrete coffins. We talked about the could be military ordnance too. But, I believe as it was described that it looks like the concrete graves at Kapalama. And how my father explained to me too, the underwater graves on the Windward side too.
July 19, 2010 will be the last place for our people to experience what our ancestors did at a shoreline lele for 2,000 years. I believe the military and the Na Kanaka are drumming up a contract agreement as I write in pretext to their Akaka Bill for 'use' at guardrails. We will see what Walter Heen does with this one since he is the person at the helm for contracts and spending of OHA's money.
Everybody invited at guardrails this weekend. See Dino! And don't forget to bring a carrot for the pig. Most of them don't know where the hell they going.

I so forgot about this song, it sure keeps me sane as the hour nears for guardrails. I think the pig is only 150 pounds or less instead of 250, not sure. But, if anyone wants to stop by go just before sun down and don't forget to look up at IZ on the mountain side.
The construction crew bring dirty gravel that is filty to make a cheap drive down for the garbage trucks to come and pick up what is left behind as well as the ones that are stubborn and won't leave. The city workers pickup all Ukana and through it in the trucks to be taken to the dump.
I was a hippe, homeless, and turned activist --so 'Hair' nude and beads... in the late 60s and early 70s.... I use to take so much shit from people back then. Good grief ...so much feelings and so much ...memories...!!! This is when I get pissy over the 'filmig of Taylor Camp, oh..such a need to prevent the real movement for peace!!! make love not war!!!! Which has nothing to do with Makahiki, caution!
How the hell I got through those years without drugs is beyond me.....
Unlike today...its killers..so many people die on our beaches..which is not news worthy...just a convience (7-Eleven)....
How can people be so heartless
How can people be so cruel
Easy to be hard
Easy to be cold
How can people have no feelings
How can they ignore their friends
Easy to be proud
Easy to say no
And especially people
Who care about strangers
Who care about evil
And social injustice
Do you only
Care about the bleeding crowd?
How about a needing friend?
I need a friend
How can people be so heartless
You know I'm hung up on you
Easy to give in
Easy to help out
And especially people
Who care about strangers
Who say they care about social injustice
Do you only
Care about the bleeding crowd
How about a needing friend?
I need a friend
How can people have no feelings
How can they ignore their friends
Easy to be hard
Easy to be cold
Easy to be proud
Easy to say no
This is the one I am listening to because it has 'one' combined with 'easy to be hard'. We should bring back Hair on stage that should piss off a lot of people.
David Ma has been in shock ever since I introduced him to the 'real' truth of what's going on in Waianae which is a true reflection of all Na Kanaka communities. So it's easy to ask him to come with me, he tries to remedy the problem in his own way. But, he lacks the understanding of culture values and how it all evolved to today. Much of our 'values' are embedded into the modern stuff. Which infact, get's in the way of who we are, the modern stuff that is.... It is really funny because he is a 20 year journalist and have been in the mist of live fire and death demonstration inches away from his camera during filming. For me to see a well experienced journalist re-act to our situation validates the seriousness of our problem. The absolute genocide!
Chuck Negron was so awesome back then. Whenever, I hear his voice ...wow..so much feelings...and lots of memories too. I can still remember the night of the 5th Dimensions live at Schofield and how they walked into the crowd and sang to us...what a crazy night.
Mahalo Amelia for what you have done on Maoliworld. Number One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do.....lonely...lonely...
