  • Where did these iwi go?
  • Aloha.
I have recently just found out that I am a product of Kahakuakoi & Kealohapau'ole. I am very hurt to hear my iwi kupuna being removed. I will be passing this information on to my 'ohana. I would like to thank you for posting this information.

    My contact info.
    k_onekea@yahoo.com or 7387920.

    Me ke aloha ha'aha'a,
    Kau'i Onekea
    • Oh Kaui,

I felt so compelled to inform people and i hope you get to talk to Ian about this. They are going to return the iwi to the aina here at Hanohano close to the ocean....ARGH!!! maybe not a good idea....

Please call the state department and let them know your connection to the iwi and give them your manao so that these iwi are properly cared for....

My wish is that they be respected...i couldnt stop them from removing the iwi but i certainly can see to it that they be rspectfully returned to the aina...

      • aloha sharon,
wow, mahalo Ke Akua for a real wahine warrior, not only in words but the gathering of actions to alert all of the disgrace that this illegal governing entities of contractors, is allowed and given the rights to disrespect our kupuna kahiko's (ancestors). maruru (thank you in tahitian) for all your information and the info you gather from the others in this very site of concerns.
i will also look into the state departments of maui nui to investigate the proper protocals of handling our ancestors i'iwi-s. i am against any outsiders of my ahupua'a to touch my ancestors i'iwi and on maui nui this county of maui decided to elect a county citizen (burial dept.) to make all the wrong (hewa) decisions of handing other ohanas i'iwi-s, who self claimed to be a kahu in training as a young man, but now as an old man has lost his integeity to our i'iwi of our ancestors, to his kahu, and to our next generations to come!!!......~da princess~
  • aloha sharon,

like you, i also was forced to a mission of a calling by Ke Akua.
i am dealing with kanaka maolis in leadership in this illegal
government that has been elected for positions (burial) on my
kingdom of maui nui, has disgraced the Honor of our i'iwi (my ancestors).

i only pray to Ke Akua for justice to befall upon the greed, deaf and blind
whom has been already Educated, now its time for Accountability
and i now leave it in Ke Akua hands to bring the responsibilities to these involved
believe me, Ke Akua no sleep only mankind does!!!!
so be Aware and you may get a second wind of assurance that you are on the right path.

many more Blessings and Knowledge to you and yours.........~da princess~
    • mahalo,

it brings me to tears that iwi are disturbed in their place of rest....not only did they suffer the indignities of losing their land, their tongue and their cultural traditions and practices. Not only did they suffer seeing their queen wrongfully accused and imprisoned....gthey dies from diseases that were brought into the islands from these invaders. Any one would think that they suffered enough but no......they are even suffering in death....they now are moved.

My naau turns and twists everyday that i look down at the disturbed graves....

Mahalo da princess....my people say Kia Kaha....be strong,...,stand proud and steadfast...

      KIA KAHA

      Sharon
      • aloha sharon,

we are of a rare few that is wahine warriors,
it is not an option any more, for us it is a CALLING...

i am again dealing with our own people that call themselves, kahu/kupuna/kahuna
in our kingdom of maui nui that has been sold out to this illegal governing entity
under the united states of americans (federal, state and county).

greed has also sipped into the hearts of our people in leadership positions
and these are using their positions in this illegal system to power trip
our people that is suffering with pain of emotions, like our Burials....

i honor what you are doing, please don't stop, if you know this is your calling,
there is other ways to expose the hewa in this illegal syytem.
sometimes the quiet approach works better, and yet in sounds out with a big bang,
no one will know where the heck the noise came from.

pray to Ke Akua, and he will guide you where you need be, at the right place, at the right time,
and it is only on Ke Akua's time. Ask it, Believe it and you will recieve it in full......~da princess~
        • Mahalo Princess for your kind words and encouragement to fulfill a calling that has been granted to me from those who once walked this land...What a beautiful island you have in Maui...I have visited there many times on projects to restore loi back to the land...

We recently helped in Iao Valley and Ukumehame....such an awesome experience.

I love my cousins the Maoli...I love their history, culture and language.

I feel honored that they would call upon me...

          Yes! I will pray... Sharon
  • you know what i found out is that the hanohano family married into the land. There were 3 sisters who were given the parcels of land that stretch from kaaawa to hauula. So met a family member who now claim that the iwi are theirs....im just shocked that in the states investigation that they did not discover this...maybe they did.....i know that one of the family live here in Hanohano and is now contacting his family in Mainland.....
