OHA Supports Changes To Hawaiian Recognition Bill

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs is supporting changes made to legislation that would allow Native Hawaiians to form their own government.

The OHA Board of Trustees voted unanimously Thursday in favor of the amendments to the bill, which were made to regain the backing of Republican Gov. Linda Lingle.

The changes clarify that a future Hawaiian government would be subject to state laws, as well as health and safety negotiations, until negotiations are completed.

OHA Chairwoman Haunani Apoliona says the bill's modifications will allow the bill to move forward.

The measure could get a vote in the U.S. Senate as soon as this month. Then it would have to return to the U.S. House for a final vote before heading to President Barack Obama for his signature.

That's arrogance and stupidity on their part when they say they would ALLOW native Hawaiians to form their own government. What a crock of kukae! It's like saying they will allow women to get pregnant. Auwe no ho'i e!
For one thing, the Kingdom of Hawai'i still exists under the U.S. belligerent occupation. The other point is that this government they are referring to is akin to a High School Student Body government with about the same amount of power and jurisdiction. Another thing that's atypical of the U.S. WASP society and government is that they establish a blood quantum which eliminates most native Hawaiians and also bona fide Hawaiian subjects of the Hawaiian Kingdom who have no Polynesian Hawaiian blood.

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh. They believe they are the representative of God and get to call the shots. This means that they can recognize this governing entity and at their whim they can reverse it and unrecognize the Hawaiian tribe that they created and allowed into existence.

This is just a dance to make the U.S. appear legitimate with the elite Hawaiian-Americans complying as citizens of the U.S. who will be benefitting from i rather than the rest of the "Native Hawaiians". What has OHA, DHHL, and CNHA done for you? For that matter, what has HCCA, ROOK, or any of those royal organizations or Churches have done for you or the entire community that have benefitted from them?

The U.S. is belligerently occupying our country, there never was a treaty of annexation, Hawaii has never been a part of the U.S. voluntarily or otherwise, the U.S. is continually violating the law of occupation and the law of neutrality, they consciously disregard their own constitution regarding their ratified treaties as being the supreme law of the land, thus they make a mockery of justice, freedom, and democracy.

They forget that our kupuna protested against annexation through the Ku'e Petitions of 1897 which they acknowledged; the reason why U.S. Congress rejected the treaty of annexation submitted by the U.S. protected puppet government which they warned other countries not to interfere as it would be unfriendly to the U.S. and renamed it the republic of Hawaii.

I rest my case.
