All these so-called sovereignty groups initiated to return our people to the Kingdom. Each one sought to puka through with their agenda. Without them, everything would have remained status quo the way it is today. Each felt their way was the answer to regaining our independence. Some began with little knowledge, some grew with knowledge through research; some were thorough while others just wanted to recreate an new one without popular mandate by the people.
All their efforts were ridiculed, chastised, and ignored by the public; thus divisionary tactics were employed. Each group was helpful yet developed their own platforms on resurrecting and updating the Hawaiian Kingdom's constitution or just creating another one. The bottomline is all are for total independence and restarting up the Hawaiian Kingdom and reclaiming our nation.
The movement has basically outgrown these groups to the larger picture. It is wise, therefore, to recognize these groups as political entities/parties of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Everyone wants the U.S. to de-occupy and re-establish our still-existing nation. We want the wrongs righted and for us to govern ourselves and nation under one roof.
Each have their own concept and perspective on all these forms. This is the same dynamics as the occupier with its various political parties that maintain their own platforms. All people no matter what country, will never agree totally to one form or another. The best we can hope for is to discover the things we ALL agree to; and that is total independence; U.S. de-occupation; and that the Kingdom still exists.
Because everything got suppressed and it's governance was 'oki for over a hundred years, we need to resurrect those seats that were forcefully vacated and update our Constitution to fit in the year 2009. Descendants of the bona fide Hawaii nationals need to voice their consent whether they are Kanaka Maoli or not. The only ones with dual citizenship were those commissioned by the King/Queen in the services to the Kingdom. Those that committed treason against the Crown/Kingdom lost all rights and privileges.
Many U.S. Americans and their immigrants are in violation of the laws of occupation and cannot be part of the process. It is after the re-establishment of our government that they can apply for naturalization according to our laws and not that of the U.S. It is then that they make their choices.
We as a people need to regain our former confidence to govern ourselves after the brainwashing and propaganda that we are incapable of governing ourselves according to the manifest doctrines promulgated by the racist WASP society of the U.S.A. and other Anglo/Euro countries who still foster colonialization attitudes.
We need to condition ourselves as progressive Polynesian Hawaiians capable of governing ourselves as we have in the past and wiser to the changing of times that evolved and interaction with the foreigners of today. We have learned a lot from our unlawful occupier as to how they think and act. We see the pitfalls and the upswing of their society which we were forced to participate in. We see the cultural/value clash and treatment of other individuals not of their race and learned to deal with it; some better than most.
We have learned the lessons well and can do a better job within our nation rather than be subjected to the dictates initiated 4,000+ miles away. So, recognize these sovereignty groups as political parties within our nation and one of the same people in our Polynesian Hawai'i society that make up our proud country.
