Aloha kakou,  he Hawaii au,

SELF-ESTEEM OR SELF-DESTRUCTION??

What does the "Dark Knight Rising and Aurora, Colorado" have in common. Violence and destruction for sure. I have not and will not see Dark Knight but I hear it underlines the basics of Good and Evil. But the problem of society today is most do not know what is good and what is evil. In six days after the 2012 Summer Olympics, NBC's Grimm airs which exterminates Creation. It makes Harry Potter a nursery rhyme. And we ponder what has happen? But the icons of goodness today are a rarity and evil as being a right. As in the Olympics, good is measured by ones' ability and not their concerns. Why even goodness in the halls of the U. S. Congress have become just a Boardroom of smoke and mirrors. There is more truth in a David Copperfield performance than there is in all of Washington D. C.

The media plays to the tune of "Good Guys-Bad Guys" almost as honest as the (WWF) World Wrestling Federation and perpetuates deception of the masses. Is the Tea Party concocting "Jonestown Kool-Aid' for the fanatic right? While the alleged "Liberal Left" promote Karl Marx, the alleged "Conservative Right" champions America's Caesar Abraham Lincoln. Who is right and who is wrong is just as obscured as what is Good and what is Evil. Does anyone know where society is headed? Does anyone care? The White House has become another sequel of Airport with the only thing missing is O.J Simpson running through the halls hurdling chairs. The Office of President is said to be occupied by a man bearing a deadman's Social Security Number while his neighbors, the U. S. Congress and Supreme Court, ignore this dead man is President. The White House has become an Animal House of Celebrities with the Blues Brothers heading National Security Advisors.

Our Lord said, "My people perish for the lack of knowledge". Unfortunately, the quest of self-esteem usually obscures we are His people.

Betty Freauf has been a political insider for a long time and shares with us an insight from her perspective on the tragedy.
