Aloha, This is what I sen this morning about OHA to the email address: Global Ceded Settlement Vs. Restoration of OHA Funding Wednesday, April 29, 2009 4:14 PM From: haupukele@yahoo.com To: reps@capitol.hawaii.gov My name is Keapoi Namaka'eha and I oppose OHA trying to combine ceded lands issue with the restoration of their funds. Please do not allow this to happen. It should be kept separate. I request a full audit before any monies are restored! Sincerely, Keapoi Namaka'eha I'm to sure how everyone feels about OHA at this time. It is a shame that the po'e we elected does not represent the greater interest of kanaka maoli. Why are our people still suffering? What does Clayton Hee get out of this? Who ever voted for him should consider to VOICE your concern! Is he really there for kanaka maoli? Is he holding hands with OHA? Shroeder? (unsure of spelling of her name). We, kanaka maoli are being "hit left and right". They say we sit and do nothing! Is that right? I'm not happy with anyone who sells out our people just to put money in their pockets. Mr. Hee and others like him bring shame to the Hawaiian community! Mahalo to Ehu Cardwell / Koani Foundation who keep us informed! • OHA has bias. How can a State agency presume to deal- make for the kanaka maoli ??

    • Any tin horn politician having jurisdiction over stolen lands ?? power to vote on disposition of the national lands of the kanaka maoli ?? Skepticism must be unleashed on this bill !!! and on OHA ! Thsi will weaken the Hawaiian case FOREVER.
      • Darn,

No Bill, No monies for OHA! I wouldn't settle for nay amount. It would not compensate what they did to our Queen!
        • I agree. It amazes me how some people like Heen go to "accept" Instead of to COUNTER or to REJECT. We are NOT obligated to say Yes/Accept.

I do not trust some of these people to negotiate on our behalf. My solution is REJECT. Not that difficult to do and/or say LOL But it's just a matter of time before the younger generation takes his place. HOPEFULLY they have been raised with good KAKOU values. There is hope.

          • I just uploaded a taped session of Clayton Hee talking to Mele Carroll. When it is finished, it will be uploaded on this site! The po'e needs to hear their conversation of how HEE tried to convince Ms. Carroll why they should take it...

That was not smart at all to try to force us to believing that FAKE STATE OF HAWAII is really for kanaka maoili. What crap that HEE shoots out!
  • Uh no... not a good idea. Land is an APPRECIABLE asset. $200 million is WAY too LOW.

IMHO we need people who KNOW what they are doing on behalf of the betterment of HAWAIIANS. Not a betterment of themselves and/or their family and friends.

Clayton demands that they settle and take it - 200 million!!! Not a good choice!!
