i am from the village of Moku'ula, Lahaina, Kingdom of Maui Nui
Kihawahine is our spiritual guardian of this very sacred 'aina (land).
does anyone has any accurate information from their Kupuna's,
Kupuna Kahiko's (ancestors), not from an american writters point of view
but from your Kupuna's, from your ahupua'a that was passed down to you, personally.
the protocal that i was taught was know your Mo'okuauhau first, then it will
take you to your ahupua'a, that will then take you to your Kihawahine.
one can not claim Kihawahine until one knows his/her ahupua'a that comes from their Mo'okuauhau.
visions of other Kihawahine's bring to question by others of her descriptions and or environment. i was told that she lived in the water, while others claims she lived in caves, some also claimed she lived in trees. many views of her appearance was not descibed by my kupunas as having human legs like some have described or an appearane of a mans face.
what is different about her is that she lived in the fresh waters and yet a lizard (mo'o) lives above water. she had long hair that she would comb laying on the stones around this village of Moku'ula.
i have already spoken to 3 living Kupuna's that was told this same vision by their Kupuna Kahiko's as a child, like myself.
please share your mana'o (thoughts) of you facts and findings by your kupuna kahiko from your ahupua'a. this would be a very interesting topic of discussion. mahalo Ke Akua, may the truth set this knowledge free for those to claim knowing their Mo'okuauhau blue bloodline.
