A question that has long bothered me, is why and how did the US military acquire Barking Sands, Kaua'i. In ancient times, it was a recreational place for our ali'i, and maka'aina alike. Now the area is restricted to US military personnel ( active duty and retired). That land belongs to the people of Hawai'i, not the US military.
