Why do us Hawaiians, who were born on homestead land (Papakolea) can't qualify to return to homestead land now? I have been told it's because I don't have enough to meet the "blood quantum" which is BS! I WAS BORN THERE! Yet there are other who get to live on HomeStead Land and I question their Hawaiian blood.
May folks were one of the first to settle in what is called "lower Kalawahine" on Anninaniku St. name after my great-grandmother. I stuck on the mainland and want to live at home before I am too old and die...I'm 63yrs old now and want to live country....Hauula or someplace on the Windward side but can't even qualify...this is sad and I'm NOT alone, there are many just like me.
