Kamehameha School’s Virtual Strategies and Distance Learning Branch would like
to offer all teachers an exciting opportunity to participate in the Culturally-Based Online
Curriculum for Educators professional development course. The course will run from
July 21 - October 21, 2008.
Participants will:
gain access to standards- based, Hawaiian focused, online high school curriculum
and resources to integrate in their classes
have the opportunity to experience being a part of a distance learning professional
development community of educators
learn basic distance learning skills
receive a stipend or professional development credit upon successful completion of
all required components
The course will begin with a one day, face-to-face workshop on Monday, July 21, 2008
at the Kapälama Elementary School campus. Travel expenses for neighbor island
participants will be paid for. The rest of the course will be conducted entirely online with a learning portfolio due by October 21, 2008. Participants will need to have reliable Internet access and basic computer skills. Please consider joining us as we learn, share and grow through Hawaiian culture and technology.
