Kai,
The only thing that DOES matter is the TRUTH, so please try to contact Keali'i to get ahold of Ken for you. The truth is the truth, and needs to be told. Too many lies for too many years. I don't have a problem with correcting inaccurate facts, and putting the truth in its place. What was MOST important to me is for people to see our Congress people in action, hear the voices of opposition to the Akaka Bill, and the "Indian Affairs" committees (just about all non Indians) and what that means in terms of the reality we face.

Yes I realize he does give the important facts and I don't mean to nitpick. Sometimes I feel that being accurate also means we are more convincing. Just for instance he claims that when Cook arrived the English immediately attack the Kanaka and begin a genocide.
Even after they Killed Cook when he returned shortly from just being provisioned by the Hawaiians in Kealakekua , Vancouver restored the peace.
Cook was far more complex then he suggests and though the result of the clash of cultures did result in near extinction, his own mana'o was of concern about the negative impact.
Cook also recognized and formed treaty relations with the Kanaka which served to curb for some years conquest by following empires.
Kai...
I don't know this man, but awhile back, there were those who were asking if anyone had any footage of the actual ONLY "hearings" on the Akaka Bill years ago. I found these by hunting on the internet. I'm not the best when it comes to history, so am unaware of any inaccuracies within the writing. What I do know is that he clearly identifies the different issues, and has footage that nobody else seems to be able to come up with. If you have any suggested corrections, I just found out that Keali'i Makekau knows him, so you might contact him. Evidently, Ken O'Keefe is a friend of his and is going through some revisions as we speak.
I thought it was MORE important to have people see what REALLY went on than to pick at the details. But...again, I don't know all our history, so please get ahold of Keali'i. Donna
