My name is Luka, my neighbor Diana wanted me to contact you. You know her from looking at her dogs in pupukea (by the way she just had another litter and she was trying to reach you, please call her 808-638-8283), anyway Diana thought we should talk. My family came from Kapaa, the Kaneakua's, Napoleons who knows maybe we are related. I tried calling you twice, but maybe you never got my message, maybe it wasn't the right time. So if you have time please call so we can hook up and begin talking geneology. Hope to here from you soon, my number is 808-638-7829. a hui hou, luka
Aloha Keola . Pehea ,oe? Lovely diffenition to the name . When i was a young girl some Hawaiian lady told me the name Kauinohea meant beauty inward and outward . I have been trying to find out what Kaui means but can not find any thing on it yet it is quite popular with us Hawwians. I am so happy to hear from u . Hope your new year is good . U take care and My Aloha to u and yours.
Aloha e Keola I have a question for u.. what is the meaning of your grandmothers and my name Kauinohea i believe it was u that told me her and I have similar Hawaiian name i know part of the name but hear many different meanings . My one cousin told me it was man of the ocean or sea.... i also heard it means beautiful any way u look at it like a jewel .. and i know nohea is hansome or beautiful but cannot find Kaui in the Hawaiian dictionary i have been searching for years it seems.. This name i got came from a Kahuna it was given to my mother when she was born but the name made her very ill and my grandmother took her to a bible reader and he told my grandmother what to do about the name to remove it from my mother and some other things she had to do to make it work. supposedly the Kahuna the name came from was not a good one .... But later after i was born my grandmother went back to see the Kahuna and was told she could use the name now that the not so good one had passed . so i got the name in 1941. I was ok for me ... I am just curious of why it is so hard to find the spelling Kaui in the Hawaiian dictionary .. Mahalo Keola ... Have a great week Aloha Always .. Kauinohea ..
