  • Mahalo Roz...I didn't know that was Michele...now I do. Probably it would have been a better idea for me to have a career "other than" art as it has been fun, but not the best...financially. I just finished doing the interiors for Times Supermarket. but for years I did all kinds of things. Designed for Tori Richard. Helped to brand Local Motion, which was owned until recently by my brother, Rob. My sister, Valerie lives in Makawao...so you might run into her one of these days. Saw Neil Hannahs the other day in Punalu'u and see Jon Osrorio quite often as I am pretty involved with the Hawaiian Movement. I was always a radical...but other than Leimomi Apoliona and a few close others...very few knew that. I grew up a "pascifist" from my Dad mostly...Mom is a Holt and is half Hawaiian. Between Hawaiian issues, I try to keep up with my artwork...am working on a hala painting for a good friend. Sounds like you have a good life going for you...so glad for that.

  • Sedning a ray of sunshine your way. Mahalo to those you help. Have a nice weekend!
  • Mahalo nui loa! You are quick! This is getting pretty interesting...the earliest Papoko I have found is in the Kepani/Paleka Geneology. It's all the way in Kipahulu at the beginning of their geneology. Evidently their Kupuna Wahine had 2 Kane. Kepani and Papoko...they have their side all filled up, but the Papoko...auwe, I was told that side was my kuleana. I just got to keep plugging along....by the way...when is the re-union? I'll check the website. Aloha and malama pono. Michele
  • OMG mahalo for your help. It will come in handy and yes that was the day he died. The thing about it was he never told us about his family while he was alive. So being that I am the age I am now, and I have been blessed with children of my own, I want to know so that they can learn more as well. I want my children to know as much of their Ohana as possible. Mahalo for your help.
    Aloha A hui hou!
  • So pretty your picture. You go girl !!!!!

  • Mahalo Roz for your comment about Kalei. I need to get to the State Archives and spend some time there.
  • Aloha Roz,

I have been open to two sides of the Akaka Bill, it has it's good and bad points. One of the good is that it will recognize us as a people cause right now we don't exist. Either way it goes at least we are discussed as a people.
Right now we nothing. I sometimes get in trouble because of how I feel. But I am respectful of others feelings and I pray they are respectful of mine. Just to be educated about it either way is important. I also feel that everyone no matter what they stand for or believe should have a seat at the bargaining table. My real beef is OHA and how they spend our monies and the Kau Inoa list and how it is being used.
I agree to disagree, all is good, you are my sistah and that is what is important.
  • Aloha Roz
