    ahh! it just came to me. the baby's last name is Lopez. can't remember the first name though. i'll check on it tomorrow.

    hmm... i can't remember what the baby's name is right now, but i can find out. i got that picture from a newspaper article on gabriel and how he passed at the age of 103. article was written in 1953; the year he died.

    my grandma told me stories about how he came down to o'ahu from maui to stay with them when she was a little girl. she said when his taxi pulled up in front of the house she ran outside to see who it was. when he got out of the taxi he shouted "Loke!" (hawaiian for rose, her name)

    my grandma had 17 siblings and never met him before so she always talks about how she was amazed at how he knew her name and that she was Rose.

    do you have photos of gabriel? his wife? your grandma?

    interesting that you say mary KAWAWA. according to my grandma, kawawa was a typo and the correct spelling is KAUAUA - "THE TOUGH" (this kind of thing was common back then) what's your family's take on it?
