'Ohu I have a question I will ask Puakea ma, but first I should ask you guys here on this newspaper group: Have any of you ever read an article about the Hawaiian monk seal? According to some these days, its a native animal; but some say its not from here, but introduced from elsewhere. I presumed it was a native, but I've searched without significant result in the newspapers on ulukau. So this question to all of you. Mahalo a nui! 'Ohu

  • i believe them to be endiginous to hawaii. our ancestors called them Ilio-holo-i-ka-uaua, dog that runs in rough waters wich is really cool cos well, as we know now, all seals, whales, dolphins each have serperate ancestory stemming from land mammals.
