Hawaii Governor Enacts Bill To Further Self-Determination For Native Hawaiians
Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie signed into state law on July 6, a bill that formally recognizes Native Hawaiians as “the only indigenous, aboriginal, maoli population” of the islands and begins a process to create a roll of qualified members to work toward the reorganization of a native government. The law is seen as an important step for Native Hawaiians in the movement for self-governance.
According to the Star Advertiser, Senate Bill 1520 supports efforts in Congress to gain federal recognition of native Hawaiians similar to that offered to American Indians and native Alaskans, but would continue the effort at a state level regardless of whether that goal is achieved. Gov. Abercrombie said, “This bill is the first step in seeing to it that we have a Native Hawaiian government entity,” he said. “It’s not only the first step, it is a practical manifestation of all that has gone on before.”
However, not all agree with the measure – sovereignty activists decried the measure as an attempt to deny Native Hawaiians’ claims to govern as a sovereign independent nation. “This is an affront to those of us whose nation was stolen,” activist Pilipo Souza said. The governor now has 180 days to appoint a five-member Native Hawaiian Roll Commission, which will be responsible for preparing and maintaining a roll of qualified Native Hawaiians. The roll is to be used as the basis for participation in the organization of a Native Hawaiian governing entity.

hi Pomai,
Defenders of the past, defenders of the future..........which is what many of us are and continue to do.......
The following was posted at http://paradise808.wordpress.com/2011/08/09/the-truth-about-the-cor... from a post at http://www.kycbs.net/Bishop.htm after Federal Judge Ezra moved to remove Greg Wongham's post from the internet in 2007!
the following is my intro posted and Greg Wongham's post after:
Reminder to Everyone about the Goldman-Sachs Stocks invested in by the CORRUPT. PIRATED entity Bernice Pauahi Bishop Estates/Kamehameha Schools aka’s:
I, Amelia Gora, a Royal person, one of Kamehameha’s, Mataio Kekuanaoa’s, his last wife Kalima’s descendants, Akahi (w), Kalola (w) descendant and heir of the first cousin of Bernice Pauahi on Probate of Bernice Pauahi did send the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Estates/Kamehameha Schools aka’s Trustees a Cease and Desist Notice saying that they cannot invest any further in the Goldman – Sachs Stocks. They own more than 40% interest, and the Congressmen/U.S. Congressmen have been feeding off the wealth of these stocks, etc. along with U.S. President Obama whose ancestor was a namesake of Bernice Pauahi who was on the Will of Bernice Pauahi. Research incomplete.
This is Greg Wongham’s Info —note that in 2007 Federal Judge Ezra moved to remove his website………criminal deviants for sure!

Stealing the Legacy of an Hawaiian Princess
Sightings from The Catbird Seat
~ o ~
PART I - The Stealing Begins....
PRINCESS BERNICE PAUAHI was born on December 19, 1831, the last in the royal lineage of Kamehameha the Great, conqueror and first king of the Hawaiian Islands.
As was the custom for Hawaiian royalty, it had been planned from childhood that Pauahi would marry her hanai brother, Lot Kamehameha. She doted upon her brother but declined to take him as a husband. Instead, the attractive young Pauahi met and fell in love with a commoner, a foreigner from Sandy Hill, New York -- Charles Reed Bishop.
The love between Princess Pauahi and the foreigner faced great opposition from her family, other ali'i and members of the community. But the young princess was intelligent and independent, and in June 1850, at age 18, she married the young "haole" businessman.
The Princess and her husband eventually won over many of their critics and their relationship came to be admired by Hawaiians and westerners alike, and she eventually reconciled with her family and the other ali'i.
Pauahi grew and developed as a young matron and counselor to her people. At the age of 25, she inherited over 16,000 acres of land from her parents. Other inheritances followed as other members of the royal family passed away. The greatest of the inheritances came from Princess Ruth, her first cousin. Ruth had declared Pauahi sole heir to her entire estate. The amount of land was mind-boggling: about 353,000 acres.
Ruth's gift to Pauahi made her the largest landowner and the richest woman in the Kingdom. At the same time, she presented Pauahi with the greatest challenge and responsibility of her life. Pauahi now owned a giant estate, and she would have to decide how it would be used.
The Bishops had a multitude of blessings, except one. They never had children of their own. Possibly from this came Pauahi's inspiration to use her legacy to establish the Kamehameha Schools for all the children of Hawaii.
On Thursday, October 16, 1884, the princess passed away. Charles was by her side.
The newspapers reported that a heavy downpour of rains reached a crescendo just about the time Pauahi died. In ancient days, the Hawaiians said when rain fell at a the time of a person's death or funeral, "Kulu ka waimaka, uwe `opua." (The tears fall; the clouds weep.), for the gods mingle their tears of affection with those who weep in sympathy and aloha.
Of all the eulogies that were held upon her death, perhaps that of Reverend J.A. Cruzan was the most moving and prophetic:
"The great loss which Hawaii sustained last Thursday was not that the last of this great line of High Chiefs died, nor that the possessor of great wealth died, but that a true woman died...True in all times and among all races...
That Bernice Pauahi Bishop was such a true woman her life bears witness....Refusing a crown, she so lived that she was crowned. Refusing to rule her people, she did what was better, she served them, and in no way so grandly as by her example....
'The world can do without its masters better than it can without its servants.'...For fifty-three years her royal life here has borne unswerving witness in favor of virtue and purity...
She hated that which was impure with an intense hatred. She had only loathing and contempt for that which was coarse and low. Place, power, wealth, nor influence could win her favor or regard if it was joined with degraded character. And her womanly example was all the more potent for good because it was so quiet...
The things that are most noisy are not the most powerful. Nay, things that make no noise, and make no pretension, may be really the most powerful. This quiet, modest, true womanly life has been for years, and still is, and will be for years to come, a mighty power for good here in Hawaii.
Only the God who loveth purity and righteousness can measure this one true woman's influence for good upon her people..."

hi Pomai,
Think we may need to help some of the people on the outer islands under the Kingdom of Hawaii....
http://damontucker.com/2011/08/06/abused-by-the-big-island-police-a...
I went to Pahoa Village Club to cover the concert that was happening there last night and ended up with a lot more then I bargained for! I got arrested for taking pictures and videos of cops arresting people!
I will be filing a lawsuit against the Hawaii County Police department soon for a few things tomorrow…
Mainly the police have now confiscated my camera and cell phone as well as roughing me up and locking me up in a police detention holding cell for taking video and pictures of them in action from the sidewalk in front of Pahoa Village Cafe.
People are allowed to take pictures and videos of police officers w/out getting roughed up. I’m battered, bruised and bloody from an officer slamming on the sidewalk… Thankfully I have eyewitnesses that will come forward to say what happened.
My wife took pictures shortly after I was released from jail tonight…
I just want my cell phone back and camera back…. I was rolling video when the officer took me down and they took my cell phone and camera from me for “Evidence”.
LAWSUIT PENDING…. STAY TUNED!
*UPDATE* I’ve added pictures of my body wounds here: http://damontucker.com/2011/08/06/a-police-officer-brutalized-me-an...

Are you a kanaka maoli? If not, I can still add the names of those who did wrong to you as a citizen on the Genocide Activities file that I've been assigned to.
My name is Amelia Gora, Acting Liaison of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Hawaii, and although there are more than 40+ Hawaiian governments, ours is posted on the Washington DC, Whitehouse.gov website see: http://www.whitehouse.gov/assets/formsubmissions/54/c1dc2d2b35964f0... glad to assist. aloha. email: hawaiianhistory@yahoo.com or Attorney Dexter Kaiama cdexk@yahoo.com
I encourage you to fight this for all our sakes. Big Island police don’t exactly have a good reputation for treating people nicely and I would think that they wouldn’t want to make things worse. Unless you are obstructing the police it is NOT illegal to photo or video them on public property.
All charges were recently dropped in the Emily Good case, now she plans a lawsuit:

Good luck!
Shame on them! They think they are above the law!
That is really too bad the militarized police syndrome has reached moku o keawe. They pretty much got the green light to do whatever they wanted to people since the global banking syndicate with their nazi state intel staged 9/11 falseflag and cracked down on the last of the people’s liberty. In a way it is good they are showing their hand too early locally as they will be easily and soundly spanked in court by the public. There is no sovereign immunity for this brutality syndrome at levels below federal. I was hoping our braddas in da police force would remember the aloha spirit involves respect for citizens who want transparency about government and its agents incl. police who ideally will remain as peace officers not the new nazi gestapo of miliitarized police who can make their own rules and step on anyone’s toes.
Of course there is a big difference between federal nazi cops and locals, and that is the fact that the county cannot print funny money like the Fed, they gotta borrow and when they cannot balance the budget it would seem like a bad time for the county cops to be running up adverse judgments bankrupting our little municipality. But ya know to protect your inalienable rights perhaps you just gotta drag those mofos into court and let the people decide who is right and wrong. Don’t make any deals and take this to the jury. The county will settle with you on the courthouse steps on advice of counsel since they are completely bogus here and risk a helluva alot if they take it to the brink. Lose money fo dem.
The moral of the story is you local cops no can get away with what the federal gestapo does in the CIA, FBI, Pentagon etc and you cannot do what they do in Iraq to us in Hawaii. And the reason is you county do not have the money to do this because you cannot print it like the federal government. Please take note and restore the peace. In all the militarized training of local cops being fed down from the top in the phony GWOT stance, they should have explained that if you act like they do in Iraq here and you are county you do not have the backing of the Fed’s funny money. Once those lawsuits hit it will all be clear. I hope this nips the syndrome in the bud on our island.
I will pray for you, Damon. You certainly don’t deserve this!!
That’s just crazy. Don’t they have anything better to do, like Crystal Meth maybe?
Suggest getting to a doctor right away and have report and pictures taken.
I sent Shannon’s forward to me of your blog on this – plus this letter – to each County Council member…
What is going on??? This is not acceptable…

Damon,
Glad you are out.
Obstruction of Government Operations?
ouch!
Orwell must be chuckling in his grave.
Keep us updated.
Oh Damon, I am so sorry to hear this happened.
LOVE, Mom
Are they crazy?
How many Police were there?
First off, do they know you are a journalist?
And second off, do they know you are also a Federal Employee?
Time to call up Brian Delima.
This is so BS… are there any laws or court cases here about citizen’s rights to record Police activity?
Did they charge you with interference?
This sucks – I am sorry that this happened to you.
Holy crap! I remember years ago when you got hassled for taking a photo outside a PO. I bet your lawyer is going to tell you NOT TO SAY A WORD on your blog lest you… I dunno’… lawyers always tell you never to say anything.
The way I look at this is if they erase the pictures and video they have no evidence of you taking pictures and if they leave everything in tact you have evidence of them assaulting you. Now you have to be careful that the camera and phone don’t show up as broken in the scuffle.
The Lack
Wow,
Damon, were you asked to stop taking pictures?
The Lack
What was the (or was there an) alleged violation/offense the officer cited when you were arrested? Did you have to post bail?

Don’t forget these Federal Laws. They make the police personally liable. Sue in Federal Court also.
everyone laughed at Councilman Greenwell when he said he was standing up to the police to prove things weren’t quite right with all of them. seems he’s vindicated by this, which is sad.
Dear Damon & Family, I really enjoy your blog and I am sorry to hear and see photos of this. I hope you recover, body and spirit.

Damon – you have them on assault and robbery charges. Like Keoki said, call Michael Green. This guy knows what he’s doing.
Yes, please sue them and keep us updated (I came here through PINAC).
There are NO laws against taking photos or videos of police, just as there are no laws against taking photos or videos of people in public places. It is our right to do so, covered under our Freedom of Speech.
Shit bro … Super sorry to hear about this! Really, really sorry. Look forward to the updates…
Why were they bothering you? Such a nice guy…don’t they have better things to do? I want to here the entire sequence of events because this is bizarre!
Damon-
Call immediately attorney Michael Green’s office at (808) 521-3336.
With the pictures and a doctor’s documentation of injuries, this case is tailor made for Mike.
Call the office and try to book an appointment.
If you have trouble getting past his receptionists who answer the phones, tell them I sent you. I’ve heard it worked for others who wanted an appointment and had trouble getting past the “gate keepers” who answer the phones.
Good luck.
